Aterion Alabaster Floor Lamp

A solid alabaster column tapers from a wide top down to a narrow waist, then sets onto a slim solid brass disc — the silhouette of a stone candle, scaled to standing height. A rectangular alabaster shade rests above, held to the body by four small brass corner clips, and softens the light through its translucent stone wall. The veining in the alabaster is unique to each block: warm honey, cream, and pale grey shifts that read as quiet abstract drawing during the day and warm to gold once the bulbs come on. Available at 160 cm and 165 cm overall heights, the Aterion stands as a single quiet object beside a sofa, a bedhead, or a tall console.

Solid Alabaster Column

Hand-shaped from a single block. The taper from top to base reads as one unbroken line.

Translucent Stone Shade

The rectangular alabaster shade glows softly when lit, revealing internal veins through the stone.

Solid Brass Disc Base

Weighted brass plate — its mass anchors the column on hard floors and low-pile rugs.

Each lamp is one of a kind

Alabaster is a natural stone. The vein patterns, the saturation of honey and grey, and the translucency profile all shift block by block. Your lamp will share the same character as the photo, but the exact pattern will be unique to your piece.

Plug-in — no electrician required

Ships with a ~2 m (6.5 ft) cord, a standard US two-prong plug, and a foot switch on the cord. Plug into any 110–120 V wall outlet and switch on at the foot.

Two sizes

Standard · W 40 cm × H 160 cm

W 15.7" × H 63". Suits most living rooms and bedrooms — fits behind a standard 80 cm tall sofa back, beside a queen-bed headboard, or in the corner of a reading nook.

Large · W 45 cm × H 165 cm

W 17.7" × H 65". For double-height rooms, deeper sofas, or where a single floor lamp anchors a corner. Adds 5 cm in height and shade width — reads more monumental at a distance.

Bulb

2× E26 · Bulb not included

Two E26 medium-base sockets sit inside the rectangular shade, each accepting a bulb up to 60 W (or LED equivalent). For the right glow on the alabaster, use 2700–3000K warm white bulbs — cooler color temperatures wash out the honey tones in the stone.

Installation

  • Plug-in setup — no electrician needed. Compatible with any standard 110–120 V wall outlet.
  • Two E26 bulbs, sold separately. Recommended: 2700–3000K warm white LED, 60 W max equivalent each.
  • For dimming, the foot switch is on/off only — pair with smart bulbs or use a plug-in dimmer module between the cord and outlet.

Frequently asked

Will my lamp look exactly like the photo?
No — and that is the nature of natural alabaster. The base color tone and the soft honey-and-grey vein character will match the listing photo, but the exact placement, density, and translucency pattern of the veins is different in every block of stone we cut. Treat the photo as a representative sample of the family of patterns, not as a literal preview of the piece you will receive.
What size should I choose?
The standard 160 cm size suits most living rooms and bedrooms — its 40 cm shade clears a typical sofa back and reads in proportion to a queen-bed headboard. The large 165 cm size adds 5 cm of height and 5 cm of shade width; choose it for double-height rooms, deeper sectional sofas, or where the lamp will sit alone in a corner with no other vertical objects nearby. The 5 cm difference is small in numbers but visually meaningful in person.
What bulbs should I use?
Two E26 medium-base bulbs, up to 60 W each (or any LED with the same brightness rating). For the best look, choose warm bulbs in the 2700–3000K range — the honey, cream, and grey tones in the alabaster only read correctly under warm light. Cooler 4000K+ bulbs make the stone look gray and washed out. A19, G25 globe, and ST64 Edison shapes all fit comfortably inside the shade.
Is the alabaster column hollow or solid?
The column is solid natural alabaster, hand-shaped from a single block. It is the structural body of the lamp, not a hollow shell, which is why the lamp is heavy and stable for its footprint. The light source sits inside the rectangular alabaster shade above the column — when the bulbs are on, the shade glows softly and casts a wash of warm light into the room. The column itself is decorative stone; it does not light up internally.
How do I clean the alabaster?
Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with plain water — wring it out almost dry first. Never use vinegar, lemon juice, or any acidic cleaner; alabaster is a soft calcium-based stone and acids will etch the surface permanently. Skip glass cleaners, all-purpose sprays, and abrasive pads. If the brass base shows fingerprints, wipe with a dry cloth; do not apply brass polish unless you are prepared to maintain a polished rather than naturally aged finish.
Is the Aterion certified for North America and Europe?
Yes. It holds certifications compatible with North America, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and Australia and operates on AC 110–240V worldwide.

CASAI Lighting

"Alabaster does not merely hold light — it breathes with it, casting a warmth that cannot be manufactured, only discovered."
Formed through millions of years of slow crystallisation, alabaster is among the world's most ancient decorative stones. When illuminated, it yields a quiet, golden luminosity — gentle, organic, irreducibly human. Our collection exists to honour that rarity, designing forms that allow the stone to speak without interruption.

Natural Character
No two stones
are ever alike.
Alabaster carries within it a geological autobiography — millions of years compressed into veining, crystalline structures, and tonal shifts that no craftsman could plan or replicate
